Sambazon came to us with the desire to launch a new frozen Açaí Bowl experience to the world in a convenient form and to help build awareness around issues of sustainability in a positive way. They had a desire to set a new standard for how a CPG product can be made consciously.

The goal from the outset was to create a unique, sustainable package that has a traditional earthen feel. This 2-chamber structure has the added advantage of being able to retail standing up on shelf as well as laying flat in a glass-top display freezer.

They are the first company to launch a 100% plant based packaging in this category. The packaging is made in the USA from 100% plant based materials, mostly re-purposed scrap paper. Bowl and Film materials are individually certified ASTM compostable, including the adhesive. The bowl barrier coating is PFAS free and the sleeve and shipper case are certified FSC.
