Talea and New York Public Library Brew George Washington’s Small Beer Recipe

  • As part of America’s 250th birthday, the New York Public Library (NYPL) and Talea Beer Company have partnered up to release a special brew based on George Washington’s small beer recipe called Liberty Lager.
  • Washington’s recipe is from a notebook he kept while serving as a colonel of the Virginia militia in 1757 and is part of NYPL’s collection.

Librarians do more than check out books and shelve returns. They also archive, preserve, and share knowledge on every imaginable subject, including presidential beer recipes.
