Do?ukan Karap?nar, Marmara University designed pencils, logo, packaging and displays for Karakalem Drawing Pencils. The name is a translation of charcoal, drawing pencils in Turkish. Do?ukan Karap?nar took inspiration from the various lead degree of drawing pencils. The goal was to show their key difference, their tonal values and hardness of the lead. Both the package design and pencils design have patterns, which indicates the lead degree of the pencils. ‘H’ series pencils have lines and ‘B’ series pencils have dots.
