Adidas And LEGO Collaborate On Brick-Themed ZX 8000

Published

Since 1949, Danish firm LEGO has inspired the creativity of kids, as well as quite a few adults. Even after nearly seven decades in business, the fondness for the bright and colorful interlocking bricks continues to endure and is synonymous with ingenuity and fun.

When applied to the iconic Adidas ZX 8000, the results are a playful sneaker that adds a touch of style and vibrant whimsy.

Part of Adidas’ A-ZX series of collaborations and reissues of longtime favorites, the classic ZX 8000 silhouette is given little LEGO details throughout, including lace jewels styled after the iconic bricks, and the signature dimples get used around the heel, laces, and sole. The tongue tag swaps out the shoe maker’s logo for LEGO, and the colorway finds inspiration with the classic LEGO palette.

The influencer kits come packed in a giant 6×2 LEGO-like brick outer cover in Adidas’ signature blue and sporting the brand’s tri-stripes. Inside, a box made of LEGO houses a pair of sneakers. However, if you aren’t an influencer, the packaging will be much more sparse – a plain white box. If the conventional packaging is a disappointment, now might be the time to start buying more Instagram followers before the next drop.

This isn’t LEGO’s first foray into footwear; five years ago, the toymaker partnered with Agency Brand Station to create a limited number of functional slides that featured brick-proof soles.

As with most hyped-up sneaks, of course, they’ve already sold out, but you can secure a pair through the usual secondary markets.
