London Creative Agency 48.1 Brings Back The Laundry Press For New Press Wines

We here at Dieline love digging into a robust Pinot Noir but hate doing laundry. But we will go to bat for drinking wine while folding laundry because our mothers taught us that multi-tasking was a virtue, and dammit, we're going to get something done of value!

That's why we can't wait to try this new line of wines by Specialist Cellars and renowned winemaker Ben Glover, New Press Wines.

From 48.1:

Founded by Melanie Brown, new world wine experts Specialist Cellars worked with Marlborough winemaker Ben Glover to produce a wine of its own. One that represented their collaborative approach with respected producers from around the world, and could also sit proudly on the shelves of The Laundry – their new bistro & wine shop based in Brixton’s old Edwardian steam laundrette at Walton Lodge.

A new world wine. The Laundry. Their latest press. The name worked across many levels. So naturally, it demanded an identity that too was rooted in reason and could successfully combine the brand’s old-world heritage with its new world energy.

So we bought a mangle, turned it into a letterpress and replicated the motions of laundry pressing to create our own type.

The beautiful unpredictability of the results saw us create a playful but grown-up range of labels for their Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Rosé varieties with each – like the wine inside – possessing a unique personality of its own.
