Beaningful Gives Chocolate a Psychedelic Zen X Look

RUT hearkens back to the days where the search for cosmic meaning looked a little cooler with their trippy Ibiza chillout design for Beaningful chocolate. Each bar has an artsy, abstract look, with bright, yet measured colors shining in thoughtful, mature spots like a James Turrell exhibit. While the sans serif typography is grown up, that’s not to say it’s sober— most bars have the logo drifting off a bit, as if in a trance.

On each of the Beaningful bars’ packaging, we captured carefully documented tasting experiences – it took us dozen of tastings, 78 chocolate bars, an uncountable amount of incredibly attentive tasters, and one very patient master chocolatier. Each illustration is an infographic-measuring scale, portraying unique sensations of taste unfolding – from the moment you put it on your tong… till fully melted. Some tastes are explored throughout time, some uncover themselves differently depending on attitude, distance, or degrees – the colors, intensity, and graphic elements are interpretations and yet sometimes very direct captures of what the chocolate told us through the ones tasting it. We’ve also created an authentic verbal identity for packaging, to show that we bean it.
