Soda See, Soda Do: PepsiCo Joins Coca-Cola on ‘Revising’ Sustainabilty Goals

In the battle for beverage supremacy and our hard-earned dollars, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo are longtime fierce rivals. Unsurprisingly, when one of these soft drink giants makes a move, the other is sure to follow.
Most recently, Coca-Cola reintroduced its “Share a Coke” campaign, and Pepsi responded with a parody of its own, extending its “Food deserves Pepsi” promotion. Instead of proper names or nicknames, Pepsi uses dish names, such as “Hot Dogs,” in its clapback.
Unfortunately, Pepsi has also followed suit when it comes to sustainability. Late last year, Coca-Cola quietly scaled back its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals, and now PepsiCo has done the same.
