Retail can be challenging for any brand founder, even when youâre an A-list global celebrity.
According to a lawsuit filed by Snoop Dogg and Master Pâs Broadus Foods, partner Post Foods and Walmart intentionally kept boxes of its cereal off shelves and told customers online and in-store that its products were unavailable for purchase. Broadus Foods claims that the lack of placement is in reaction to its rejection of a buyout offer from Post, which entered into a business partnership in bad faith.
The lawsuit further alleges that despite a successful product launch, consumers could not find Broadus Foodsâ Snoop Cereals in the breakfast cereal aisle, with stock being kept in backrooms or placed in clearance or baby product aisles, or the price raised to up to $10 per box of cereal.
