Deep in the recesses of your cupboards, you have a tin of tea somewhere. Obviously, I’m not talking about boxes of Celestial Seasonings, Yorkshire, or Tazo—I’m referring to that keepsake tin that someone’s grandmother gifted them years ago, and either there are still a few teabags left that you’re saving, or it has now moved into the bathroom and holds hairpins or cotton swabs.
The point is that they almost always take on a secondary life. And if that’s the case, you’ll probably want one that looks pretty good.
Camille Piot, designer and founder of Ardent Studio gets it. Her conceptual brand, Theory of Tea, revels in Art Deco flourishes and gorgeous illustrations. It’s exactly the kind of tin that makes a statement on a kitchen counter.
