Premium fresh fiber paperboard company MetsäBoard has just released the world’s lightest pizza box. The new, slimmer pizza box modernizes a design that’s essentially been stagnant since the 60s, reducing both material and printing ink usage.

The updated design prioritizes sustainability without sacrificing the packaging’s effectiveness, function, or quality. The weight of the box design is lighter than the traditional pizza box weight by around 30% while maintaining a rigidness that can support a whole pie. At the same time, the fresh fiber material has the required purity to hold a freshly baked pizza, keeping the product’s freshness at the center of the design.
