California-based Hatch Design is the mastermind behind Honey Mama's vibrant packaging. The natural-ingredient cocoa truffle bars are made with raw honey, making the intricate bee illustration all the more welcome. Each flavor is found in a different bright color palette, yet the graphics, typography, and layout are consistent throughout the line. The packaging blends the essence of organic farmer's market aesthetics with tropical beachy vibes, creating a wholesome system.

?Honey Mama’s is a one-of-a-kind confection that lights you up from the inside out. However, the outside of their pack was clashing with their in-store placement. Due in part to it’s wholesome ingredients that need to be kept cold, it sits next to functional bars in cold boxes instead of alongside other indulgences like chocolates. While Honey Mama's is made with all- natural ingredients, the only functional benefit it could claim was making those who tasted it feel radiant joy after just one bite.

Building from this brand truth, we refreshed the Honey Mama’s brand to better represent the magic they create, which we dubbed “nourishing doses of pure freakin’ pleasure.” We brought delightful experience and sustainable function together to evoke the joy of the first bite through a fresh visual identity, wordmark, packaging, flavor names, and product photography. We also recommended changing their description from “cacao nectar bar” to “cacao truffle bar” to help consumers better identify the indulgence within. Finally, we reimagined their honey bee and, in keeping with their name, made it a focal point of the new identity. Honey Mama’s has been the fastest growing brand in their category since relaunching.
