Simply Spiked Puts A Lie Detector In A Can To Remind Canadians To ‘Keep It Real’

Canadians have gained a global reputation for being polite people, one they even embrace. Many Canadian travelers will even sew on Canadian patches to distinguish themselves from the other North Americans. Of course, it’s easy to come off as an overtly gracious people compared to your rowdy neighbors to the south, though Canada has had some rather impolite moments in its history.

Still, that politeness streak is always present, and sometimes Canadians find themselves willing to lie to maintain civility. According to a survey commissioned by Molson Coors’ Simply Spiked, 39% of Canadians have lied about having plans to turn down an invitation, 26% have feigned liking a birthday gift, and 23% have been dishonest about someone else’s new look.
