Lately, we’ve noticed packaging is going on a journey, so to speak. Designers are covering liquor, soda, and snacks with details that pay homage to the long history of sundries we now take for granted as imported luxury goods, covering them with the stamps and signatures of a journey from outpost to outpost.

The latest to tap into this “worldly” trend is another liquor, Mexico’s Mezcal 28. Every detail in LAT’s bottle design has an ultra-classy vintage look, from a stamp-covered label to its simultaneously timeless and on-trend wax seal lid. There’s a cool, almost bloody look to the ink in the typography, making it easy to imagine a patient letterer taking the time to illustrate every character.
