Crocs, the rubber slippers for those that prioritize comfort, have been mostly derided for their appearance, but at some point, they became an ironic fashion statement with plenty of fans, including the fried chicken slingers at KFC, who have announced a collaboration for a limited-edition, meaty-morsel-inspired shoe.
A platform version of the KFC Croc debuted this week at New York Fashion Week, worn by global avant-garde artist Me Love Me Alot (MLMA), who often showcases her eccentric and provocative art on Instagram, where she has over 1.2 million followers. A more subdued, classic soled shoe is set to go on sale soon and features the same realistic fried chicken pattern upper, with the sole sporting the iconic red and white stripe pattern found on the Colonel’s iconic takeout bucket.
