Kathleen Lights x ColourPop Prove This Is The Year of the Gem

Gems are hot this season! Following the successful launch of their collaborations featuring eyeshadows, lipsticks and highlighters, ColourPop and beauty vlogger Kathleen Lights have teamed up once again to release another palette.
Lights, a self-proclaimed “oddball Aquarius with a love for all things beauty,” has over 4 million subscribers on YouTube where she keeps her fans entertained with videos like “Doing my makeup with tiny hands” (classic) and “Taste the BK Impossible Burger With Me” (literally #NotClear with what has to do with makeup). Getting her start from Miami, Florida, her unboxing videos have made her a household name in the beauty world and launched her catch-phrase “Das esspensive” which is the most Florida thing I’ve ever heard in my life.
Full disclosure, I’m from Florida, so I’m allowed to hate on it as much as I please.
So Jaded, the new palette launched in collaboration with ColourPop and Lights has 30 highly pigmented shades that include a combination of matte and metallic shadows, one Super Shock Shadow and two Pressed Glitters.
As the cosmetics brand’s biggest palette, the product allows makeup artists and enthusiasts alike to create diverse looks that range from a rich, neutral eye to a jewel-toned monochromatic look that can complement any skin tone.
The packaging leans heavily into the bright, vibrant gem colors featured in the palette. Featuring gems sprouting from the right and left of the package, the name “So Jaded” appears and comes embossed in gold. Lifting the cover of this vibrant palette, ‘Kathleen Lights x ColourPop’ is featured with a gold explosion between them. Each shade has the corresponding color written on a curve above them. Lights claims she found inspiration in birthstones for the new colors in the collection, which would be groundbreaking if she were living under one of the birthstones that inspired her.
The palette, which retails for $39 is available now for purchase online at colourpop.com.
ColourPop continues to be on the forefront of unique collaborations, and although this is no Halo Top, this color palette is vibrant enough to cement this being the summer of the gem.
