Currently, I’m sitting on my front porch at 11:45 am, and the “feels like” temperature is 104 degrees with a UV index of 10.
Sure, I’m in the South, but I swear this summer is worse than the last (something I state annually as the seasons change). Southern summer is admittedly in full force, and my way of coping is by pretending that every moment I spend outside in this sweltering heat is actually nature’s sauna, a free detoxification and stress reducer. Muggy New Orleans summers? Never heard of it. I prefer a high metabolic rate, detoxification by way of weather, extra hot girl summer. It’s a mouthful, but it’s also what some would call a silver lining.
And while I spend a lot of time outdoors in the heat (strange, I know), I also like to hide away and scroll through the internet when the feels like temperature gets way too high, as I’m sure most normal people do.
