In an inventive way to break down the wall of cliche gender roles in the world of beauty, ArtCenter College of Design student Jocelyn Zhao designed a conceptual beauty line for Lego. In her statement, she justly states, “Men can play with Lego; they can also wear makeup.”
Not only does this line break gender stereotypes, but it’s gorgeously and thoughtfully executed. Additionally, utilizing a range of colors, from salmon to grey to black to pastel blue, allows everyone to feel welcome to use the products. Not to mention, because this is a Lego collaboration, it only makes sense that the goods can be neatly stuck to a lego board to keep everything organized and tidy.
If you told me that Legos should release a makeup line, I never before would have seen how that could have made sense. But, thanks to Jocelyn, I understand how natural the collaboration could be and is.
