Coney Island, the Brooklyn neighborhood peninsular and amusement park, has attracted tourists looking for fun in the sand and sun since the mid-19th century. Nathan’s Famous‘ original flagship location has occupied its Coney Island location since 1916 and is home to the brand’s national hot eating competition.
The hot dog chain recently teamed up with neighbors Coney Island Brewery to create its latest menu item, Nathan’s Famous Lager. The new beer is a first for Nathan’s Famous and is described as having a “nose full of bright citrus and floral aromas” and a palate with “a nice cracker malt profile” with “a floral hop flavor.”
The lager’s label, designed in-house by Coney Island Brewery, features a black background and boardwalk-inspired neon-colored graphics like hot dogs, hamburgers, mugs of frosty beer, and fries. Nods to Nathan’s 106-year Coney Island tenancy and New York also find their way onto the can.
