Campbell’s New Soup Celebrates Classic Grilled Cheese and Tomato Combination

Pairing a grilled cheese with tomato soup is a no-brainer, as the crispiness and creaminess of the sandwich pair nicely with the acidity and sweetness of the soup.

Now, Campbell’s is making it easier to enjoy the combination of tastes with its latest flavor of tomato soup. The limited-edition Grilled Cheese Tomato soup comes ahead of National Grilled Cheese Day on April 12th.

The label design is evocative of grilled cheese and tomato soup and retains many of the typical elements found on cans of Campbell’s soup. The usual red, however, gets swapped out for a brighter, more tomato-like hue, while the white gets replaced with a yellow evocative of melted American cheese. The 1900 Paris International Exposition medal in the center is also nixed, and in its stead is an image of a toasted grilled cheese being pulled apart.
