Camp + King Refreshes Kentucky Bourbon Brand Four Roses

Published

Four Roses is a distiller of Kentucky Bourbon, first trademarked in 1888 by founder Paul Jones, Jr.

In time for Four Roses’ 135th anniversary, the distillery has unveiled a brand refresh—the first since 2006—by studio Camp + King, focused on updating and contemporizing the heritage Kentucky Bourbon brand while showcasing its history and craft.

Camp + King started with a slight refinement, which lends elegance, befitting the Four Roses’ name origin. Before starting the distillery, Jones was courting a Southern Belle named Mary. She told Jones she’d arrive at a ball wearing a corsage—Paul knew Mary accepted his proposal when she wore four roses pinned to her dress. The brand kept the four rose cluster on the bottle as it’s their signature visual asset.
