Who Gives A Crap: The Where’s The Loo Edition

Published

Toilet paper is one of those things we buy without much thought. Most people have their favorite brands, stick to them, and that’s that. Who Gives A Crap, however, is shaking up the industry with their unique wrapper designs through their partnership with illustrator Owen Lindsay.

They are designed to give you a little entertainment while you sit upon your royal throne. Not only are the toilet paper rolls packaged with wit and charm, but the products are made from 100% recycled paper or bamboo, and they also donate 50% of profits to help build toilets for the 2 billion people who don’t have access to proper sanitation—a win-win-win for toilet paper.

Calling all adventurers! Who Gives A Crap needs your help finding the loo in some of the world’s most amazing locations. For our latest limited edition, we’ve created twelve unique wrapper designs with search and find puzzle artwork that’s sure to entertain no matter how long you’re on the toilet.

Created in partnership with illustrator Owen Lindsay, we’ve hidden a toilet on each wrapper within scenes from all over the world. From NYC to the Arctic Circle, under the sea to outer space, each wrapper is full of easter eggs, location specific jokes and, of course, the hidden loo. We’ve varied the difficulty so everyone in the family can play along.

As always, 50% of profits are donated to sanitation charities in developing countries because everyone deserves to find a loo when they need one.

We think toilet paper can do amazing things all year round — things like reducing deforestation and building toilets for those in need. But twice a year, we like to make our toilet paper feel extra special by partnering with artists to create themed loo rolls.

Our limited editions are designed to be beautiful so that people are keen to share the rolls. The more people that post about them, gift them or leave them out for guests to see, the more we grow and the greater impact we have in developing countries.

Who Gives A Crap was founded in Melbourne by Simon Griffiths, Danny Alexander and Jehan Ratnatunga after they learned 2.5 billion people in the world don’t have access to a toilet (it’s 2 billion now – yay for progress!).

Our trio launched the company in 2012 with a crowdfunding campaign that streamed Simon sitting on a toilet in our draughty warehouse until we had raised enough pre-orders to start production. Fifty hours and a sore bum later, we’d raised over $50,000. We delivered our first product in March 2013 and we’ve been on a roll ever since. Get it? Roll? Hehe.

Now we make a collection of products that are good for the planet, good for people and good for your conscience. We’re B CorpTM certified for the highest standards of social and environmental impact. All of our products are made from 100% recycled paper or bamboo and we also donate 50% of profits to help build toilets for the 2 billion people who don’t have access to proper sanitation – over $8 million AUD to date!
