Dads have traditionally gotten some historically lame Father’s Day gifts. Moms receive flowers, go out to brunch, or get a calming massage; pops everywhere end up with ugly ties, coffee mugs reading “best dad ever,” or if they’re lucky, some golf balls. It’s little wonder then that so many dads say, “don’t get me anything,” while secretly, all they want is some uninterrupted time watching sportsballs along with a 6-pack of frosty beer.

Sadly, short of Taiwanese baseball or European soccer, there’s not going to be a lot of live options on TV this Father’s Day. But brewer Best of Kin at least has the beer covered with a smooth, thirst-quenching lagered ale. Dubbed “Dad Beer,” it comes from a German recipe and finds inspiration in the brews father would crack open and enjoy after a long day at work.
