House Wine Asks If You Want Some Cheez-It With That Wine

Cheez-its, those crisp and cheesy-baked morsels, combine two great things that often paired together-cheese and crackers. The snack’s salty, savory and crunchy texture makes it an ideal treat when relaxing with a glass of wine.

Well, the Nobel-level geniuses from House Wine and Kellogg’s decided they can create a pairing better than cheese baked into a cracker, while also making boxed wine even more convenient.

Yes, it's a combination box of wine and Cheez-Its.

“Many of our fans were already exploring pairing different wines with Cheez-It," said Jeff Delonis, senior marketing director for Kellogg's U.S. Snacks division via press release. "Just like wine and cheese, you can pair the real cheese inside each Cheez-It flavor with the perfect wine complement and find a pair to enjoy all summer long."

House Wines pairs their red blend, a 50/50 mix of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with original-flavored Cheez-its to create a party-in-a-box that doesn’t require corkscrews or a fridge. However, you will need some sort of beverage receptacle, unless you’re OK drinking straight from the spout like a savage.

The wine and crackers in a box, dubbed “House Wine + Cheez-It Box,” offers an easy enough way to pack 20 glasses worth of wine to take on a picnic, camping, concerts, or even an impromptu get-together.

One has to wonder just why no one has thought about what other alcohol and snacks could get smashed together into a single box of Voltron-level awesomeness? I mean, peanuts and beer pair wonderfully, and similarly come in cans, just in case any beer makers are reading this now.

If you want to get your wine and Cheez-it on, House Wine will be selling a limited number on a first-come, first-serve basis starting today, July 25th, at 5 PM EST on their website, for $25.
