Superbad, the 2007 comedy film focused on the waning of three friends’ high school days together, is based on writers Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen’s Canadian high school experiences, but it takes cues from other coming-of-age movies from the past. Of course, what high school comedy doesn’t seem applicable for those who came of age in the 70s to now? High school was terrible for everyone, right?

That same blend of old school and contemporary relevance is done to extraordinary effect in another Rogen and Goldberg project with their Canadian cannabis brand, Houseplant.
