Following the success of the Kat Von D for Sephora color collection, launched last year, Kat Von D, owner of High Voltage Tattoo and star of TLC’s realty TV show “L.A. Ink”, recently introduced a fragrance line of her own. The first two fragrances, aptly titled Saint and Sinner.
To conceive of the fragrance packaging design, Sephora’s San Francisco-based merchant team engaged Maesa Studio. In addition to the design, the Studio managed the package design, engineering, development, manufacturing, and procurement, providing a turnkey finished good to Sephora.
The category’s centerpiece product, a 50ml EDP is available in both “Sinner” and “Saint” fragrances. Each fragrance comes housed in a custom glass bottle with heavy glass distribution at the bottom, dressed up with a gradient spray and silver hot stamp. The fragrance is topped with a custom closure, weighted five piece cap with a detailed metalized filigree brand and top plaque that resembles the wax seal Kat uses as a personal icon.
