Nick Liefhebber’s design for Lacuna blends mystical geometry with a cozy, flower-centric theme, bringing a captivating and rich visual experience to the gameplay. The dark, saturated colors combined with intricate graphic flowers transform the gameplay into a nightly journey of collection and strategy.
“Lacuna is a cozy game of mystical geometry about collecting flowers in a pond at night. You draw imaginary lines between flowers, place your pawn, and collect both flowers. The design is inspired by this geometric element of the game combined with the organic distribution of the pawns. This resulted in a playful collection of graphic flowers built with a very limited amount of basic elements. Colors are dark and saturated, the system is mysterious yet simple, the materials are rich and sturdy.”
