Introduced nationally in 1975, Miller Lite was officially called “Lite Beer from Miller” until the name changed in 1998.
Miller Lite proved a hit, inspiring competitors like Budweiser and Coors to create their versions of light beer and transform the American beer landscape. Light beers would be a dominant category, with several topping sales ranks since 1975.
