Asian confectionery is seeing legacy sweets shed their corner-shop labels for identities that could sit comfortably in a Seoul concept store. YONBEK 1227 is a perfect example: a Korean strawberry mochi brand renamed after the 1,227 recipe attempts it took to perfect. And it became a detail that Duedance turned into the root of the whole system.

The palette pulls from the Yeonbaek region’s “Three Whites” of rice, salt, and cotton, layering milky neutrals with saturated fruit tones of butter yellow, lilac, and blush that sort each flavor at a glance. The design reworks traditional Korean forms, such as lotus motifs and references to minhwa folk painting, flattening them into crisp, repeating patterns, while individual mochi wrappers unfold like blossoms. The logo blends Art Deco design with modern Seoul influences, proving that honoring tradition and modernizing it are not mutually exclusive.
