While any buzz around American music festivals has seemed to circle mostly around Coachella for going on a decade, they haven’t been the biggest players in the circuit for all that long. For most of the ‘90s and 2000s, that honor would probably have gone to Lollapalooza, Perry Farrell’s once-touring, now firmly Chicago-based alternative music blowout. The famously eclectic, beloved festival is still going strong, and it’ll turn 33 this summer.
While we’re still waiting to see this year’s design from Trans Company, last year’s is one to beat. 2023 attendants were treated to a special can inspired by Bluetooth speakers: a deep red design featuring understated logos, surrounded by countless little black holes that make it look not unlike a microphone. We can imagine tons of festivalgoers were singing into their cans especially passionately.
