Forget Dry January; It’s Wet January For Those Who Still Want a Drink or Two

Published

I have nothing against Dry January. I fully respect the concept of hitting the reset button on bad habits at the start of the year, understand the need to detox from the holiday season, and support living your best life with a positive, healthy mindset.

Still, a tiny part of me doesn’t get it, and I have similar feelings about New Year’s resolutions. I understand why plenty of folks feel the need to remake themselves, but why must we reframe our mindset and edit our bad habits only at the beginning of the year? Why can’t we press the reset button throughout the year or have midweek or mid-month resolutions? Why can’t I decide I don’t want to drink alcohol for one random weekend in March and then continue to sip—responsibly—on a boozy beverage for the rest of the month?

And for those very reasons, I’m introducing the first-ever official Dieline Wet January round-up. We’ve got some new drinks worth checking out with swoon-worthy packaging. Yes, it’s the antithesis of Dry January; it’s for those who take breaks when they need or want to, not when arbitrary months tell them to or because of some impetus that causes us to self-flagellate. Let’s be a little kinder to ourselves.
