Belvedere And Janelle Monáe Share Vision Of A Beautiful Future

The origin of the word belvedere is a combination of the words bel, “beautiful,” and vedere, which means “to see” or a vantage point, coming together to create a new word meaning “a beautiful view.”

Belvedere Vodka has come together with recording artist and activist Janelle Monáe to release a limited bottle design and social and creative campaign to imagine another view, one of opportunity and empowerment they call “Beautiful Future.

Monáe and the vodka maker have teamed up in the past, with the latter supporting the GRAMMY-nominated’s Fem The Future brunch, an event that aimed at supporting the grassroots organization that aims to empower and support women. This collaboration lead to a continued partnership to co-create content and support female storytellers. “Beautiful Future,” a series of short films, is the first project borne from the partnership and features three female filmmakers, Janicza Bravo, Lacey Duke, and Kristen Lepore, and begins with the premise “what does a beautiful future look like to you?”

“When I sat down with the Belvedere team, it was incredible to realize that they shared my passions of philanthropy, community and the desire to uplift others and my vision for a Beautiful Future, which is one in which women feel empowered and are given equal opportunity,” said Janelle Monáe in a press release. “I’m thrilled to be partnering with the brand on championing positivity and charting a path for a Beautiful Future.”

The white, limited-edition bottle features a metallic collage meant to represent the peeling back of layers to reveal the inner beauty and follows last year’s limited-edition offering designed by Nigerian artist Laolu in support of The Global Fund and Project(RED).
