I’m not around kids, but apparently they’ve taken to saying “6 7” all the time, annoying folks like parents, teachers, and other adults who think the IRL meme is…well, childish.
Historically, once adults are hip to a trend, it almost certainly kills it, and slang is no exception. The grown-ups have noticed “6 7,” so it’s no longer so edgy and cool. It’s been featured on South Park, Dictionary.com proclaimed it “word of the year,” and now the marketers at Pabst Blue Ribbon in Canada have tapped into the viral trend with the “6 7 Mixer Pack.”
The mixer-pack is actually not a terrible idea. The pack includes six cans of PBR beer and seven cans of “Strong Iced Tea.” Since the case has an uneven 13 total cans, there’s an extra protrusion on the top to make them all fit. In addition to the signature blue ribbon, the front panel includes copy reading “we don’t get it either” underneath. Of course, it’s a silly thing the kids are doing, and it doesn’t mean anything.
