Mochi, the deliciously wonderful dessert ice cream created in Japan, is now trending in Sweden. Three students, Natasha Frolova, Jessica Sjöstetd, and Louise Olofsson created a concept to give the sweet treat a new identity for the Swedish market.
The package design for Mochiice incorporates the varying colors of the mochi and has a slight Japanese paper influence. The wavy blocks of color look like landscapes of distant mountains against the sky, however colors like pink and eggplant are used, giving it a revitalized, more modern appearance. The packaging is practical, utilizing chopsticks as a handle and allowing the consumer to buy multiple packs of 4 to stack and carry.
