Sockerbit Gives Swedish Candy a Sweet Spot in Grown Up Design

Sockerbit opened its first Swedish pick-and-mix candy shop in New York’s West Village in 2010, bringing a distinctly Scandinavian approach to the sweets market.

For its latest packaging expansion, Savita Ostendorf of Meike Design takes that clean visual language into a playful space, mixing oversized geometric patterns and colors around the chunky stacked Sockerbit logo. The seasonal designs are especially fun, from Easter eggs and spring tulips in flat, almost paper-cut shapes to Halloween skulls and slithering snakes drawn with the simplicity of vintage comic illustrations.

As Swedish candy continues its moment in the spotlight, Sockerbit shows how sweets packaging can embrace the love for graphic simplicity and collectible seasonal designs while looking just as good on a grown up kitchen counter as it does in the candy aisle.
