There’s no denying that refill pouches were created with good intentions. The concept was to keep consumers from repurchasing plastic bottles and, instead, purchase refills of the concentrate to refill their bottles at home. Because these pouches use less plastic than bottles, it does help tackle the surge in unnecessary excess plastic that we, as humans, are known for.

But are these pouches really more sustainable?
