ONIMA is a brand of fermented hot sauce based in Spain. Before starting ONIMA, founder Tyler Mains worked in the craft beer industry, immersing himself in the wonderfully wild world of fermentation, which he now uses to craft hot sauce.
Mains initially handled branding and packaging design, in addition to crafting ONIMAâs hot sauces, but last year, his wife, Angel Cho, took over those duties as the brandâs creative director.
âOur vision for ONIMA’s brand design was to encapsulate the essence of our unique hot sauce-making process,â Cho says. âAt ONIMA, we redefine hot sauce by embracing an ‘omnidimensional’ approach, moving beyond mere heat to explore a rich diversity of flavors and mouthfeel experiences. Each core sauce features a unique combination of tastes, from savory to sweet, herbal to citrusy, meticulously balanced and visually mapped on a radial graph at the center of our labels, which illustrates the unique flavor profile of each sauce.â
