The brand redesign for Southern Brewing brewery makes us want to crack one open on a hot summer’s day. The redesign utilizes various typefaces and illustrations that give each brew it’s own distinct look and feel, all while maintaining the brewery’s logo that has a distinctly Southern, BBQ-house vibe.
Southern Brewing is a popular production brewery and hangout spot in Athens, Georgia. A five-minute getaway from the bustling college town of Athens, SoBrewCo has been slinging pints, organizing concerts and inviting Georgians of all stripes into the craft beer scene. Recent legislation in GA spurned an explosion of craft brewery openings, and the folks at Southern were feeling the heat of ever-increasing competition on shelves and in taprooms. With the goal of maturing their brand image and increasing recognizability on shelves, they reached out to CODO to develop a new brand identity and packaging system for their core lineup of beers, as well as their limited release series.
