México is a country of rich culture. It is known worldwide for its cuisine and distinctive flavors, but most importantly – its tequila.
Tequila is cultivated in the golden state of Jalisco (where all traditional tequila is made). Why Jalisco? Well, the blue volcanic soil in the surrounding region is particularly well suited to the growing of the blue agave which tequila is made from. I can go on and on about the history and distillation process of tequila, but there is a saying in my family: ¡Arriba, abajo, al centro, pa’dentro! – which translates to “Up, Down, Center, and Drink!”
