Lately, there’s been a lot of interest in design that perfectly balances modern and vintage.
While Wes Anderson’s sleek midcentury style has made him a timeless reference point for doing so, we’re noticing a lot of designers have been looking specifically to his 2014 film The Grand Budapest Hotel for inspiration. It’s hard to say exactly why, but maybe it’s for the same reason there’s always someone somewhere talking about Marie Antoinette—who doesn’t love sweets that look pretty?
