Denomination has created Colourpalate, a visually engaging wine selection system that simplifies choosing the perfect bottle. Each label features a color-coded spectrum guiding consumers to their preferred flavor profiles. This clever approach educates wine enthusiasts on the diverse tasting notes available.
“Choosing wines can be difficult when you don’t know the difference between varietals. The wine category is not very consumer friendly in helping understand what wines actually taste like: many brands resort to colour coding but it doesn’t allow for the nuances in wine. The back label language can also be confusing and even intimidating with ‘winespeak’.

Our client’s brief was ‘wine made easy’ so we came up with Colourpalate – a simple system that helps consumers match wines to tastes they enjoy. The Colourpalate system is twenty squares whose colour corresponds with the flavour. Visually you can see what the wine is going to taste like as well as what the subtleties are. The back label has a flavour spectrum for each wine and consumers can also scan a QR code where an app makes it even easier.”
