What You Can Do To Help Victims and Evacuees of the LA Wildfires

While the Dieline team is scattered across the country, at our heart, we have always been an online publication with deep ties to Los Angeles and SoCal on the whole—we were headquartered and had offices in Los Angeles for years.

It’s absolutely heartbreaking and devastating to see what is happening to the city we once called home. The raging wildfires are the most destructive to have ever hit the region, and the city is bracing for another day of extreme danger.

So many of our friends and colleagues have been directly impacted by the wildfires, so it felt only right to round up a list of resources for anyone needing them.

Also, if you have the financial means or would like to give blood, please donate to the American Red Cross.

Stay safe out there, and lend a hand if you can.

If you are in need of an evacuation center:

For housing/shelter:

  • 211 LA partnered with Airbnb and have made free temporary shelter available to those displaced by the wildfires. You can fill out a form for housing by going here.

Animal/Pet Shelters:

  • Los Angeles Equestrian Center: 480 Riverside Dr., Burbank (accepts large animals)
  • Agoura Animal Shelter: 29525 Agoura Rd, Agoura Hills (accepts small animals)
  • Pasadena Humane Society will offer emergency shelter for animals, 361 S. Raymond Ave., Pasadena. (please note:they’re filling up fast and are looking for families to foster dogs and cats from families displaced). Email foster@pasadenahumane.org
  • spcaLA is also taking in animals affected by the fires, 5026 W. Jefferson Blvd., Los Angeles
  • Dogtopia of East Pasadena has three free overnight stays for pups from families displaced and a 50% discount afterwards, (626) 699-8577
