Why do most nail polish bottles look the same? The cosmetic has been around for long enough that one could assume there’d be some innovation here and there, but the design on display in the usual drugstore aisle is… pretty static. Freelance designer Ahmed Fouda reminds us how much more interesting nail polish could look with this concept for Gloss, a sadly imaginary plant-based company with futuristic typography and packaging that does plenty of justice to the fun, neon hues inside. Fouda centered tactile appeal in the design, imagining a funky, attention-grabbing display that would surely move some units in a trendy urban boutique.
The logo reflects both worlds: the hard edges of the bottle and the soft lines of the lid. A combination that brings both worlds together: a bold logo that expresses the softness of the product application, balancing the essence of nature with a touch of modernity. The unique design shows the balance between the bottle’s sharp edges and the soft, nature-inspired lid. The design symbolizes the strong contrast between the natural ingredients and contemporary aesthetics. With its vibrant colors and trendy appeal, the Gloss design is truly modern, bold, trendy and makes for a visually striking design. But the shape doesn’t just appeal to the eye: I wanted to create packaging that you want to touch right away.
