Studio Miles Bottled the Sun in Their Shiny, Almost Ecliptic Design for Equinoxe Gin

Published

For the past several days, North America’s had a case of Sun Fever from the buildup to yesterday’s total eclipse, which was visible across a good portion of the midwest, south, and eastern seaboard. Excitement for this rare event was all over the news, plenty of people flew to spots in the eclipse’s path to get a good view, and hopefully the eye injuries after the fact are minimal.

If you missed out, are left feeling like the party is over, or want to keep that excitement going, why not toast to the sun? A sense of solar worship has been palpable in branding lately, especially for alcohol, with the latest example of this trend coming from Quebec’s Equinoxe cider farm. They recently released a line of spirits under the fitting name of Solstice, featuring a shiny solar design from neighboring Studio Miles.

Its variations on the sun-inspired alcohol trend feel consistent with what we’ve seen in recent designs: wide bottles with shiny labels surrounded by rays, and hip, retro typography evoking a midcentury feel. The sun design almost looks blacked out, which feels especially fitting right after the eclipse.
