Saison 2 is a snack brand that blends culinary and environmental creation by using malt residue to create crackers. And while the cracker creation is highly inventive, the packaging system takes a more classic approach with a stunning typography twist. The cream back is paired with an illustrative border and the brand’s legendary devil-ish mark, but the funky typography steals the show. The design is quite simple, but like the crackers, there’s an imaginative twist.

Handcrafted in Quebec, Saison 2 combines culinary and environmental innovation by recovering malt residue to create tasty crackers. Saison 2 refers to the Saison beer, and two is for the second life given to the malt. Billyclub was mandated to refresh the brand identity and packaging system. The goal was to position the brand as a leader in Quebec in grain-based food products. The new packaging balances an upscale look that elevates the use of high-quality ingredients with a playful tone because of the tagline “la réincarnation du malt” – a pun since malt sounds like “mal” the French word for evil.
