Roastar Coffee Taps Into Tin Nostalgia with Their Funky Retro Design

Coffee has primarily come in a pouch for a long time, but there’s always just been something about a tin. People have collected them for storage for ages, and at some point in the past decade, a prominently displayed can of Cafe Bustelo became trendy in millennial and Gen Z kitchens.

We’ve noticed brands have been taking note and making moves to bring the iconic coffee tin back. While Michigan’s MudPenny takes a more modern approach, Roastar Coffee’s look is so classic that you’d be forgiven for assuming it was decades old. Studio MPLS’ warm design grabs attention with the warm, earthy palettes and funky script text you might associate with a retro gas station or roadside dinner. A pretty little sun peeks over the unpretentious label, resulting in a fun, nostalgic design that was made to be shown off.
