Italian food brand Bertolli has been selling pantry staples like olive oil, vinegar, and other quality products since 1865, and earned a reputation for serving homesick immigrants in the US. Bertolli has since grown to become a leading pasta and pizza sauce brand globally.
Recently, Bertolli partnered with color experts Pantone to celebrate the brand’s Alfredo sauce. The cheese- and cream-based sauce has a distinct, satisfying taste and color, but doesn’t get the same mindshare as tomato-based sauces like marinara.

The latest in the “Inspired by Pantone” promotion highlights Alfredo sauce’s off-white color and features a social mediasweepstakes with a stand mixer, a set of pots and pans, a Dutch oven, cooking utensils, and limited-edition jars of Alfredo sauce. Naturally, all of the prizes come in that creamy off-white color inspired by Bertolli’s Alfredo sauce, and the jars are decorated with the brand logo and a familiar Pantone square with a transparent area for the color. It’s a clever use of the label to highlight the Pantone partnership and show off the Alfredo color.
And, hey, it looks close enough to Pantone’s 2026 Color of the Year, Cloud Dancer.
A common refrain about food is that “we eat with our eyes first,” and this collaboration with Pantone is a good example of how Alfredo’s signature color can instantly signal the creamy, cheesy richness that the classic Italian sauce brings to the table.
