It’s not Mondavi or Kendall-Jackson or Sutter or Beringer or—shudder—Gallo. It’s just Josh.

For the sake of transparency and a tip of the cap to my fellow Chloe’s in the world, I’ve been on the receiving end of many bottles of Chloe wine. I also conveniently have a best friend with a boyfriend named Josh, so I come into the Josh wine world with some trepidation. Josh wine, to me, has always been a part of a bit. I’ve never known it as a “premium table wine,” or a popular choice for consumers at all. But, according to Statista, “Barefoot wine was the top-selling table-wine brand in the United States in 2023, by far. The brand, owned by E&J Gallo Winery, garnered sales of over 568 million US dollars.
