Greece’s Waffle House Wows with Elegant Design for Their Hazelnut Creams

Before any Americans look at this design and think, Damn, Waffle House really leveled up, I’m sorry to report this is a different Waffle House. While this elegant aesthetic direction would be interesting character development for the United States’ most weather-savvy breakfast chain, the credit is due to a very different establishment.

In Greece, Waffle House is actually an ice cream spot known for a deconstructed approach to the typical cone. The waffles they’re named for serve as the base for their ice cream, which is often drizzled with sweet toppings like hazelnut cream. That particular sauce got a stylish pair of containers from Luminous Design Group, who created an artful variable design for the jars. Each is covered with a circular, waffle-esque motif, and while it forms the shape of a label for one, the other focuses on the negative space of the same design. This thoughtfully elegant packaging feels like a solid step above typical nut butter packaging.
