Taylor Swift Went To a Football Game and Our Punishment Is Ranch and Ketchup In the Same Bottle

I don't know if you heard this, but Taylor Swift went to a football game last weekend, and this crumble of news can't stop making headlines.

Even on a site about packaging—but we'll get to that in a second.

Sure, the primary reason is that Taylor has a new man in her life, something the world is entirely too invested in, but also because she seemingly prioritizes two condiments. As Taylor watched the game from a luxury Kansas City Chief's suite, we all became deeply intimate with her condiment strategies. On September 24th, a fan account posted an image on X with Swift with the caption: "Taylor Swift was eating a piece of chicken with ketchup and seemingly ranch!" The image and its outrageous caption went viral and has currently racked up over 30 million likes.

And if an image of Taylor Swift's plate of condiments, aka Taylor Dinner, going viral wasn't enough, on Wednesday, Heinz jumped at the opportunity to mix their brand with Taylor Swift's innate ability to make headlines by announcing "Ketchup and Seemingly Ranch," a limited-edition sauce that's an homage to the viral photo of Swift in Kelce’s VIP family suite.

The packaging design for the new condiment is in the brand's recognized squeeze bottle, following the same design cues as Heinz's Mashups. Which, from a branding and design standpoint, kudos to Heinz for recognizing the opportunity and making it feel authentic to the brand.

Do I care about Taylor Swift's condiment choices? Not particularly. But anyone who can inspire a massive brand like Heinz to create an entirely new condiment wields God-like powers. And did I mention Travis Kelce's jersey sales went up by 400% after she went to one of his games?

For the record, though, Heinz, Taylor didn't mix the sauces on her plate. Just saying.
