Minions Continue World Domination With Olipop Banana Cream Soda Collab

Since their debut in 2010’s computer-animated film Despicable Me, the diminutive, mischievous yellow Minions have quickly become beloved characters globally and difficult to escape, especially in the form of mom-core memes on social media.
Functional soda brand Olipop, founded in 2018 and already evaluated at $200 million, has also had a rapid rise in popularity and has partnered with Illumination and Universal Pictures for a limited-edition soda inspired by Minions and in time for the release of the latest film in the franchise, Minions: The Rise of Gru, coming this July 1.
Olipop tapped into their inner minion to create a flavor it says it never thought it would play with, banana cream. The cans are yellow, of course, and feature one of the industrious sidekicks in a yellow jumpsuit holding a half-peeled banana in the air. The shape and size of the 12oz cans, combined with the yellow color, make the Banana Cream soda packaging resemble a minion itself, lending fun and whimsy to the promotion tie-in.
Banana Cream is available for purchase by the case from Olipop.com, with single cans offered through delivery service GoPuff in select markets starting June 16, 2022.
